The Story Behind the Box

The story of the Dangerous Attraction Boxed Set began with collaboration between bestselling authors Jill Sanders and Dana Marton who had met online by chance and quickly realized they were kindred spirits. An idea was born: create a multi-author collection of bestselling novels in the romantic suspense genre that would be irresistible to the reading public.
As they commenced work on the project, Jill and Dana reached out to their existing network of author friends and to authors whom they saw climbing the reader ranks, quickly making new friends in the process. Over the course of a few weeks, bestselling authors Kaylea Cross, Lori Ryan, Toni Anderson, Sharon Hamilton, Debra Burroughs, Patricia Rosemoor, Marie Astor, and Rebecca York joined the group. The authors of the Dangerous Attraction collection have fascinating stories to tell: many are mothers; some are former lawyers, computer programmers and hotel maids. A few have taken a winding path to becoming authors and some have been career writers their whole lives, but they all have thing in common—writing bestselling titles.
When asked what she attributed her success to, Sharon Hamilton said she was lucky to have two great mentors who took her under their wings. “I had good mentors: Tina Folsom and Bella Andre. They both told me not to expect anything until book four came out. When Accidental SEAL came out last summer, I started finally earning something more than just Starbuck's money, and it's grown from there with each new book. Now I’m able to support myself.”
When asked what it takes to be an indie-author, New York Times Bestselling author Rebecca York advises, “Be prepared to write a lot of books, visibility is everything and don’t skip the editing process.” The rest of the bestselling group agreed wholeheartedly!
Each author was asked to select one of their best romantic suspense novels to include in the collection. Ranging in heat levels from sweet to scorcher, the Dangerous Attraction Boxed Set will keep readers turning the pages as they fall in love with sexy cops, tough military heroes, and hot CEOs.

Excerpt from THE KILLING GAME by Toni Anderson:
When she woke she was staring straight into the startling cobalt eyes of Sergeant Tyrone Dempsey. He looked like he’d wait all day for her to wake up.
“I must be dreaming,” she croaked.
He held out a mug of black tea.
“Definitely dreaming.” She sat up, took it, and sipped. The warm liquid eased her dry throat. “Thanks. What time is it?”
“0600.” His voice rolled over her. She blinked groggily. There was enough of a burr in his accent to make his voice very sexy and she figured he was laying on the charm this morning.
His face was scrubbed and clean-shaven. She found herself studying his features. The vivid eyes shaded by thick brows, the cheeks scraped smooth, the jaw firm and obstinate, his nose too flat to be conventionally handsome. Yet the combination stirred up her insides like hot coals. She fought the urge run her fingers through his short blond hair. He was tall and lean and he looked really, really good.
She did not like the whip of attraction that shot through her veins when those blue eyes twinkled. Damn. She needed distance, not attraction. “I was a bitch yesterday.”
“Is that an apology?”
“More of a reminder.” Reluctantly one side of her mouth curled.

Excerpt from SECRET GUARDIAN by Jill Sanders:

“You can put me down, now,” she said softly.

He looked around and noticed several men following them. The hotel was three blocks away and the men were only half a block away from them.

“Sorry, Princess. We need to cover some ground quickly. I think it would be better if I drove for a while.” He picked up his pace and when he looked over his shoulder, he noticed the men had as well. Now he spotted five of them sprinting after them. Damn, they were still a dozen or so blocks from the celebrations, and there was no way he could outrun them like this.

“How fast can you run?” Ethan wasn’t winded, but the blow to the back of his head was causing him to almost see double. What he needed was some sleep and some aspirin.

“Why?” she said between grunts caused by bouncing up and down over his shoulder.

“Look behind us and tell me how many men you see chasing us.”

He felt her hands on his back as she arched up and looked. Then he heard a gasp and he could tell that she had finally realized they were screwed.

“Nathan, let me down. We’ll be faster than what we’re doing now.”

“Stay with me. I mean it, Ann. No matter what!” He didn’t even break his stride as he set her down on the ground. Then he had her hand in his hand as they sprinted down the hill towards the crowded streets. She was right, she was fast, and they plunged into the crowd a good block ahead of the five men.

Excerpt from CHRISTMAS CAPTIVE, by Rebecca York:

Jordan Campbell is in a coma and Hannah Andrews has gotten into his coma dream.  But that's doesn't solve their problems:

Feeling trapped by Jordan's mistrust, Hannah fumbled for the right words. “Frank Decorah sent me here because I . . . have the ability to contact you. I guess to get into this dream with you.”
            “Who is Frank Decorah?”
“A private detective who was hired by your grandmother.”
“Grandma? What’s she got to do with this?”
“She’s worried about you. You were e-mailing her.”
            His gaze turned inward.
            “You remember that?”
“Yes. I just needed someone to talk to about it. I didn’t expect her to get involved.”
“Frank Decorah knew about my special talent—to contact people who are unconscious. He asked me to get a job at Campbell’s Reach, on the nursing staff.”
At least Jordan looked like he was listening.
“I need to help you wake up.”
            “How?”
Her hand tightened on his arm. “I’m not sure.”
“That’s just great,” he said in a grating voice and turned away. Walking to the window, he swept the curtains aside and stood looking out at the ocean. She came up beside him and saw swells in the gray water and waves crashing at the base of the cliff.
With a sigh, she pressed her face to his shoulder. “Let me help you,” she said again.
