My 5 Star Review
This is the first book I read from the pen of Lucinda Sue Crosby. And definitely not the last book from her pen. A great story teller that held your attention through the eyes of the young child of ten, Sarah.
We learn of her grandmother Francesca. A strong willed fiery woman. Afraid of nothing. Taking on the world with gusto. Teaching the young girl all her knowledge and skills helping her to live life to the fullest. She saw her grandmother on her highest but also on her lowest point. Never demeaning her love for the elderly lady.
I truly admired this feisty woman who was not even afraid to fall in love with a younger man. Seen from the eyes of a young child she could see how the affection and love grew between them in their every day life on the farm. Experiencing the pain of loss and the acceptance of healing in each others life.
Not to mention the race, the discovery of flying, etc. {I refuse to give away to much}smile
Adventure, suspense and discoveries held you captive to the pages as we learned about this unique relationship between grandmother and grandchild and the impact it had on the ten year old.
With the backdrop of an escaped arsonist who sets fires all over the county and her parents trip to France the story were lively and interesting. Like listening to someone telling a story next to the fire with marshmallows melting on the stick {you get the picture}
Even the dog Babe played her part wonderfully and I could just picture the little dog being around Sarah's feet yapping her way through all the undercurrents that continually flowed in their lives.
Matt was a great character in the male roll. The younger man who fell in love with an older woman. Adoring her spirit and gusto as they enjoyed each other and the company of the little girl. He complimented her in many areas, allowing her to be herself,  giving her the love she craved all her life.
I was privilege to read this wonderful story and can recommend it to any one who loves all the ingredients of this book.
